Is it a spa or a hot tub? So, this is a difficult answer, most use these terms interchangeably but technically there is a difference,
A spa would typically be either a portable fully enclosed unit, such as a spa you would by at a retailer and have delivered and placed in a location then connected to electricity, filled and enjoyed. Or the other version is one “built in” with or without a pool: these might be a drop in shell, vinyl lined or concrete.

A hot tub would typically be a wooden or metal shell that has no jets but using a heater powered by wood, coal, gas or electricity.

Both are wonderful and enjoyable ways to spend time alone or with someone(s) special. If you are looking for a more complete hydrotherapy experience, then a spa is the way to go. If you want more of the “au-natural” experience, then a hot tub would be a great choice.
